TBS is a member of the "NAGINELS consortium based on six SMEs and two universities and sponsored by the European Community CRAFT program has developed and perfected a unique manufacturing system for subsurface engraving any clear material for example glass or plastic in a nonaggressive way. For example we are able to subsurface engrave a 0.5 x 0.5 mm 16 x 16 data matrix in well under one second. The accuracy and quality of this engraving is very high and using market available reading optics it is possible to read the data matrix on a production line.In the marketplace it is also possible to use a portable handheld reader to identify and read the subsurface engraved data matrix.
